If you visit Munich in summer, it is hard to miss this landmark in the north of the city. With a capacity of 75,000 football fans, it is one of the most visited arenas in Europe.

MAURER's Role in the Stadium Structure

The entire roof structure rests on 96 MAURER MSM® spherical bearings. They carry enormous loads, allow the necessary movements, and guarantee that this architectural marvel will remain safe and stable for decades to come.

96 MSM® spherical bearings — an invisible yet critical part of one of the world's most iconic stadiums.

MSM® Technology

MSM® (MAURER Sliding Material) is a high-performance sliding material developed in-house by Maurer AG. It surpasses conventional PTFE in terms of friction coefficient, durability, and performance under extreme loads. The service life of MSM® products is at least 50 years.

  • Friction coefficient below 0.5% under high loads
  • Allowable displacements in any horizontal direction
  • Service life exceeding 50 years with no maintenance
  • Certified to European standard EN 1337

Whether it's a match, a stadium tour, or simply a stunning backdrop for photos — the Allianz Arena is always worth a visit. And MAURER is proud to play its part behind the scenes.
